I loved the tank its one of the best Iv seen. I couldnt help but wonder about small frogs, beetles, earwigs, katydids, flat millipedes, mantises, opiliones, termites, small skink like scincella, tiny chameleon like Brookesia and scorpions. I wish I was there and could add them in. Also I wouldn't have added the centipede. It seems to big.

I really enjoyed this and am sorry it had to be taken apart. I was compiling a list of what I wanted added to it myself.

Is there a possibility that centipedes eat flatworms? Crabs as well? I know that there's footage of a flatworm, a pretty huge one, being eaten by an even larger centipede with no real trouble.

I'm not sure you could realistically control these kinds of ants with predation. Your best bet would be around parasites , parasitoids and disease, etc. Most predators would just take an occasional meal, unthreatening for the demograhy, and few things would dare to close an ant’s nest. Exactly like man-eating lions. They can't stop us from owning the savanna. Sociality tends to make you that broken.

How did you estimate the number of individual ?, Did you estimate their population from the density in area and then scale it to the size of the biomes ?

Wow!!! This was unexpected. I would have thought the marauder colony more likely to have increased in numbers more quickly than the trap jaw colony. Mind you, I have only seen trap jaws in captivity, but they seemed finicky to maintain, and didn’t have explosive growth. It would seem your predators are choosing other species over the trap jaws, giving them an edge. Perhaps they are able to cause a predator more pain than the others, or they have developed a strategy of mobbing any predator in their territory, and killing them by force of numbers hence the edge of larger population. Amphibian s of some sort might be good predators for them, reproducing in water, where they are safe from the ants, and mostly in or near the water except when seeking food. A thick rubbery hide may also be an advantage. I know you are more on top of this than I am, and I will gladly see what you decide to do. I still miss that hammer head.🖤🇨🇦

I learned that ant lions are predators of trap jaw ants, as I seen a clip of Monster Bug War, though they have defense mechanisms with their jaws.
